New Honor Committee

Reprinted From The Regress

A new University
honor committee will make its
appearance today, it was
announced yesterday.

The new committee will be
called "The Gospel According
to St. Peter" and will perform
in-depth analyzes of all cases
that come before the present
Honor Committee in order to
assure strict adherence to
moral scruples among all
students, according to
founding fathers Richard
Berkeley and Gordon Morris.

Both are former Honor
Committee candidates, but
denied they had started the
new committee out of spite
after losing recent College
presidential and
vice-presidential elections.

"The Gospel According to
St. Peter" will be
complementary to the present
Honor Committee, with moral
judgments being passed by
former Jefferson Journal
reporters and past Honor
Committee chairmen and
co-chairmen : as well as
students, they added.

Mark Friedman, College
vice president and Honor
Committee vice chairman, said
he is "not expecting much"
from the new committee.
"They may lose interest over
the summer,"   he added.

Mr. Morris said fraternity
support should be sufficient to
provide a solid base for the
new committee, although
students who are not members
of fraternities or "honorary"
societies will be offered
partially fair trials, too.

A large stereotyped
membership, guest divinity
students, and strict adherence
to a self-superior doctrine will
make "The Gospel According
to St. Peter" stronger than the
present Honor Committee, he
added.
