'The Disease'
Leads Soccer

Scoring 14 goals and giving
up only six, "The Disease", a
team headed by Bertrand
Dumont, and Jay Ziehl's
Pernicious Piehls (12 goals for,
six against) have risen to the
top of the Virginia winter
soccer league standings.

Both teams are 2-0 and
claim five points on the
European-style scoring system.
Also 2-0 but with only four
points is Pegasus, an outfit led
by Chip Williams.

Ted Knetzger's Cats and
Phil Russell's Red Eyes are
both tied with two points and
1-1 records while teams led by
Jay Meaney, Jeff Keppel and
Tim Zimmerman have yet to
register a win.

In European scoring, one
point is given for a tie, two for
a win of less than five goals,
three for a superior win of over
five goals and no points for a
loss.
