Middies Fall
In Overtime

For the first time in Virginia
soccer history, the Cavaliers
defeated Navy Saturday,
winning 2-1 in the second
period of overtime.

Jay Meaney punched a goal
through with 2:10 left in the
period to give the Cavs the win.
The initial Cavalier goal was
scored by fourth-year man
John Gaughen.

Despite the cold weather,
the game was well-played, and
each squad had opportunities
to win before the end of
regulation time.

It was the final game for
Gaughen and fourth-year
comrades Ted Knetzger, Jeff
Curme, Sam Crosby, Jay Ziehl,
Chip Williams, and Steve
Kennelly.
