Tomorrow's Game With Maryland At UHall Field Means ACC Title, NCAA Tourney

The end of the fraternity
intramural athletic season is
drawing to a close. Among the
houses still having a good chance to
cop the individual title are Phi Kap,
AEPi, Phi Delt and Zete. Given
outside chances are Sigma Nu and
Sigma Chi.

Currently concluding is the
softball championship. Wednesday
action saw Sigma Pi edge Phi Gam,
3-2, and SPE capitalize on only two
hits to topple defending champion
Sigma Nu, 2-1. The final contest
will be held Monday at 4 p.m.

Consolation activity found Phi
Delt meeting AEPi and Phi Psi
challenging Phi Kap in semifinal
games. Each team gained the round
of four by a slight victory,
excepting Phi Delt, which
pummelled Chi Phi, 15-1.

Competition remaining will be
held in wrestling, the Stumblefoot
Derby, track, meet. Thursday's
Derby will take place at 3:00 and
Friday's festivities will kick off at
2:00.

Badminton Tourney

Badminton competition has
reached the fourth round and Phi
Kap, Zete and Phi Delt stand to
improve their chances in the event.
St. A's has also been impressive.
Among individual performers, Dick
Carrington (Phi Kap), Stokes
Grymes (Phi Kap) and Rick Lutz
(DU), have proved tough

Putt-Putt has only reached the
second round. Gib Walton of Zete,
the defending champion, suffered a
first-round setback, and in other
action Phi Kap, Phi Delt and PEP
have shown to be formidable as
house entries. Golf activity has just
been finished in the first round and
is in too early a stage to predict.

Dorm Leagues

Dormitory and Independent
softball leagues are also completing
their slates. In the semifinals for the
dorms, Bonnycastle faced Lefevre
and Tuttle view with Balz.
Quarterfinal playoffs for the
independents highlight Distillers
Pride versus G.S.B.A. No. 1 and the
Job Hunters against the North
Brooklyn Dodgers. APO has
clinched one berth, challenging
either the Blue Boaters or the
Hartree Fockers.
