Cavs Sign Brennan

Jimmy Brennan, a 5-11,
182-pound quarterback from Salt
Lake City, Utah, yesterday signed a
grant-in-aid to play football at the
University.

State Champion

Twice named an all-regional
quarterback, he guided his Skyland
High School team to state
championships in each of his last
two years while compiling a 21-3
overall record.

Brennan picked the University
over Utah and a number of other
schools because of "the academic
excellence and the new enthusiasm
in football." Explaining his signing
in a school across the country, he
explained that he is originally from
Virginia, and "always loved it
there."

Cavalier assistant coach Tom
Fletcher cited Brennan's
outstanding passing ability, his
"fine knack for running the
option," and his 4.6 second speed
in the 40-yard dash, as the
quarterback's most outstanding
credentials.

31st Signee

He is the 31st high school senior
to ink a Cavalier grant-in-aid since
Head Coach Don Lawrence took
over in December.
