among them South Carolina, North

Conrad has averaged 19.3 thus far

Small Front Three

The Midshipmen only trailed
eighth ranked Penn by six at
halftime and were only trailing by
nine with three minutes left when
the Quakers took advantage of the
desperate Middies and spread their
lead to a final 15, 59-45. Navy
started a front line of 6-3, 6-4, 6-5
to combat the Quaker line of 6-8, 68,
6-6 in that game.

Gerry Paces Virginia

Coach Gibson will go with his
starting five of captain Bill Gerry
(16 pts. 9 reb), Scott McCandlish
(16.7, 10), Frank Dewitt, Tim Rash
(11-22 from the floor, 8.7 average),
and Barry Parkhill. Top reserves
will be sophomore Jim Hobgood
(7.0 avg) and the amazin' Chip
Miller (11-14 from the floor, 8.0
average.
