Baby Terps Face
First-Yearmen

By Ernest Dempsey

Coach Dick DiBiaso brings his
first-year cagers out onto the court
this evening against the University
of Maryland frosh. The Cavayearlings
are hoping to break the .500
mark with their fifth win against
four losses.

According to Coach DiBiaso, the
Baby Terps are a fast team with
good accuracy from the floor. They
broke a Maryland Freshman scoring
record with 141 points against
Kings College earlier in the season.

Big scoring guns for the Baby
Terps include former high school
All-Americans Jim O'Brien and
Howard White. O'Brien has averaged
28 points and 17 rebounds per
game while White has pumped in an
average of 25 points per game.

Darrell Brown, Bob Bodell, and
Jack Neal have also done a fine job
for Maryland. Brown has averaged
12 rebounds and 15 points per
game and Neal turned in a top
performance against Old Dominion
with 14 rebounds.

The Maryland frosh were recently
upset by Richmond, 69-68,
but they have run some of their
opponents off the court while
surpassing the 100 point mark three
times.

The Cavayearlings are seeking
their second victory in a row
following a 107-78 trouncing of
Roanoke College.

Barry Parkhill is the team's top
scorer with 202 points in eight
games for a 25.3 average. Jim
Hobgood has averaged 20.2 points
and is the top rebounder with 110
thus far.

Parkhill, Pat Patrick, and Jim
Farmer have all been hot from the
foul line. Patrick and Farmer have
hit 78.6 and 73.1 per cent of their
foul shots respectively, while Parkhill
has a sparkling 84.6 percentage.

The first-year contest begins at
5:45 at University Hall, and should
provide good entertainment before
the varsity match.
