Only one team in the ACC had a
winning football season - South
Carolina with a 7-3 record. The
Gamecocks will travel to Atlanta to
face West Virginia in the Peach
Bowl.
The second place team of the
conference was N.C. State posting a
3-2-1 mark in the conference and a
3-6-1 overall. No less than four
teams, Duke, UNC, Clemson, and
Maryland had three wins and three
losses in the ACC. The Tar Heels'
record overall was second best at
5-5.
Maryland's soccer team has
steadily advanced toward the
NCAA championship. After the
Terps defeated Virginia, they beat
Southern Florida, and the University
of Pennsylvania. Coach Doyle
Royals' squad is now on their way
to San Jose State in California to
defend their national title.
