In an expanded schedule of
picks, the pigskin prognosticators
go all-out this week to provide
Cavalier football fans with superior
guidelines for Saturday's college
football slate. All the big games of
the week are included, as well as
the addition of another seer, Bill
Buck.

The crystal ball gazers foresee
three unanimous picks in Penn
State over Army, Wake Forest over
Maryland, and Georgia Tech over
Duke. Penn State, ranked in
everyone's top ten, should
overwhelm the Cadets behind the
running of backs Charlie Pittman
and Don Abbey, and the receiving
ability of All American Ted
Kwalick.

Wake's mighty offense,
spearheaded by quarterback
Freddie Summers, rolled up 48
points against UNC last week, and
should be able to duplicate that
performance against the Terps
Saturday. Georgia Tech, despite
barely edging a mediocre Tulane
team last week, should be able to
get by the hapless Duke Blue
Devils.

The consensus has the tough
North Carolina State Wolfpack over
Clemson by 7-1. The Pack has come
into its own lately, and has its
sights on the conference
championship. The Tigers most
likely will not interfere with the
Pack's projections.

Also 7-1 selections are an improving Tulane team over
Vanderbilt, and the powerful
Georgia Bulldogs to top Houston.
Both games should be close
nevertheless.

Ohio State is the 7-1 choice over
Michigan State in what appears to
be a toss-up. The Spartans are
coming off a big win over Notre
Dame, and could surprise. Another
7-1 selection is Auburn over
Florida. Auburn distinguished itself
by whipping highly ranked Miami
last week.

In a game of local interest,
Richmond is predicted to top VMI
by six of the eight selectors. The
Spiders are 4-0 in Southern
Conference play, while the Keydets
are winless in three conference
attempts. It looks like the Keydet
losing skein will continue.

The Texas Longhorns, on the
merit of their victory over
previously ranked Arkansas, are
selected over SMU. The Mustangs
are capable of pulling an upset at
any time however with their
outstanding star Jerry Levias.

The tightest game of the week
shapes up to be in the Ivy League.
Penn battles Harvard in a game
which will have a definite effect on
the outcome of the league
championship, and the Quakers are
the selection, 5-3.
