Seven Undefeated

After Monday's diamond action,
seven teams remain undefeated in
IM High Point softball. Division 4
boasts the most undefeated with
three- ATO, Zete, and Pi Kap.
Each of the other divisions has two
squads with unblemished marks.

Theta Chi tied Sigma Chi in
Division 1's feature. Beta whipped
Theta Delt,5-1, behind the three
hits by Marshall DeForrest. Phi
Gam nipped Phi Sig,6-4. SAE's
John Snoddy stroked a grand slam
homer and two singles in a tie with
TKE.

Chi Phi won a disputed contest
from Delta Upsilon, 7-6, to keep its
record perfect. Bill Creason's homer
was for naught as KA was dumped by SPE, 9-4. Phi Delt upped its
mark to 3-0 with a 9-3 drubbing of
Phi Ep. A first inning homer by Ted
Moore paced St.A's attack in a 9-3
shelling of Pi Lam.

In Division 3 action Sigma Pi
remained unbeaten as it downed
Phi Kap,7-2. St. Elmo nudged Chi
Psi,while AEPi was dropped by
PiKA. ZBT won over Delta Sig in a
forfeited game.

ATO kept its mark clean by
trouncing SAM,10-2. Zete also
stayed unbeaten with a 5-1 decision
over Phi Psi. Pi Kap upped its
record to 3-0 by blasting DKE,12-1.
Sigma Phi edged Sigma Nu, 3-2.

Other things are underway in
the IM department besides softball.
A putt-putt tourney is now in
progress. All scores of 35 and under
qualified for the 18 hole match
play to determine the winner. Golf
competition is set up the same way
as putt-putt, but only 32 entries
qualified for match play.

Track begins May 1 for all
fraternity aspirants. Events include:
100, 220, and 440 yard
sprints, 120 yard hurdles, 440 and
880 yard relays, discus, shot put,
pole vault, high jump, and broad
jump. No one person can enter
more than three events. Also, no
more than three people from any
one house may enter an event. Only
one relay team per house is allowed
in each relay.

Pledges from the various houses
are reminded that the StumbleFoot
Derby will be run May9 at 4
o'clock. The Derby is a 3.5 mile run
around the Grounds.
