Maryland's soccer team, which
defeated the Cavaliers last week,
registered its ninth straight win of
the season, trouncing Penn State by
9-0. The Terps have a good chance
to go all the way in the NCAA
soccer championship.
Dr. Fager, the horse owning the
world record time in the mile, won
the $57,000 Vosburgh Handicap at
Aqueduct to close out his famous
racing career, Saturday. His total
earnings in his three year career are
an astronomical $1,002,642.
Professional football may see its
first successful Negro quarterback
in Wake Forest's scrambling,
Tarkenton-type, Freddie Summers.
