Notes
Virginia has beaten Duke but
once since 1952 that being in 1958
when the Cavaliers won their only
game of the season 15-12. This
Saturday is Homecomings weekend
for the Blue Devils, and the Wahoos
would love to improve their record
to 3-1 in front of the Duke
oldtimers.
The Rugby Club will try to
rebound from its loss to the
Washington Rugby Club last
Sunday, when they meet Duke at
Durham, N.C. this weekend.
The soccer team travels to VMI
today in an attempt to pick up
their third victory of the season.
Mike Eikenberry, secretary of
the Student Athletic Association,
presented the T. Scott Montgomery
Memorial Trophy, given to the
fraternity with the most athletes at
the University to Pi Kappa Alpha.
Phi Gamma Delta finished second
with Zeta Psi third.
According to one football poll,
that of Mr. Litkenhous, the Virginia
Cavaliers are ranked No.19 in the
country. The Litkenhous Ratings,
carried in Louisville's
Courier-Journal, are determined by
some vague statistical method.
Purdue was granted the No.1 spot
in these ratings, but a rather
formidable Penn State was reduced
to No.20.
