The Virginia tennis team won its
match with North Carolina State
Saturday in Raleigh. The score was
7-2 in the Cavaliers second victory
in a row. Jeff Podesta, Randy
Herring, Andy Scheinman, and
Bob Kain recorded singles victories
for Virginia.
Leroy Keyes foreshadowed what
might be to come Saturday in
Lafayette, Indiana. The Purdue
All-American scored two touchdowns
on the ground, threw for
another, and caught a scoring pass
from Mike Phipps in a Boilermaker
intra squad scrimmage.
An off-season soccer tournament
in Ashland last weekend saw Virginia
finish second among
Randolph Macon, W&L, Lynchburg,
and other area teams.
The Varsity Golf team won the
State Golf Tournament at Hot
Springs yesterday, defeating VMI,
VPI, William & Mary and Richmond.
