Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina
will be presented
approximately every two
weeks this semester by the
Latin American Studies Center.
The series of seven films begins
tonight with the presentation

dramatizes Romulo Gollego's
novel about life in rural
Venezuela. The program begins
at 7:30 in Wilson Hall, Room
216, and will include a short
introduction by Prof. Charles
Reid, a specialist in the Spanish
American novel.

All films have Spanish or
Portuguese soundtracks, and
English subtitles, and
admission is free. Others in the
series are Barravento,
Plantation Boy, Ganga Zumba,

and The Given Word from
Brazil; Luis Bunuel's The
Exterminating Angel
from
Mexico; and The Fall from
Argentina.
