Girls Schools
Change Policies

Radford student has no restrictions
as to how often and where she may
stay.

Randolph-Macon Women's
College's student government is in
the process of changing their rules
to rules similar to those of Hollins
College. But until October 8, when
the new rules are expected to go
into effect, the old system will
continue to function. The students
must live in approved housing and
be in by 3 a.m. each night. There
are also varying amounts of
overnights depending on year in
school and grade point average.

Averett College, down in
Danville, Virginia, has changed its
policy from last year's approved
housing policy to a parental
permission system. Under this plan,
parents of the students were sent a
form to be filled out giving their
daughters permission to take
overnights, and to stay in approved
housing or motels and hotels.

Also in Danville, Stratford
College has also modified its overnight
policy. While the first-year
girls are somewhat limited in the
number of overnights they may
take, the remainder of the students
may take as many as they feel
compelled to. There are no rules
regarding accommodations for
those girls with the appropriate
parental permission, but girls
without this permission must learn
to enjoy the charm of approved
housing.

For those who believe in long
road trips, Virginia Intermont in
Bristol has no limitations on
housing while the student is staying
in Charlottesville, but the number
of overnights the girl may take is
far less than other female
institutions.
