P-K German, Union
Organize Concerts

Highlighting Homecomings
Weekend will be the first
presentation of the University
Union's Concert Series, with
the Hampton Grease Band, B.
B. King, and the Allman Brothers.

More fine concerts are anticipated
this year, owing largely
to P-K German's merger with
the University Union during
the second semester of last year.
Under the new contract, P-K
German Society, traditionally
responsible for concerts at
Openings, Midwinters, and Easters
weekends, would retain its former
structure, officers, and much of its
autonomy.

The University Union provides
the funds needed to guarantee a
group its payment, and thus
sponsor. P-K, German in its
contractual arrangements. The
Union receives the profits and in
turn pays P-K German for its
efforts in taking care of publicity,
location arrangements and specific
matters of attention on any given
contract.

P-K's traditional relations with
individual agents and booking
agencies thereby remain, and the
Society is now a large
subcommittee of the University
Union.

The merger will hopefully
alleviate last year's headaches due
to the lack of coordination among
the various interested groups of last
year, epitomized by the
cancellation of the Midwinters
concert.

The results are soon to be seen.
The Union will feature a Capitol
Records Promotional Concern with
the Joy of Cooking, Joyous Noise,
and Kev Kottler in October. Rod
Stewart and Al Kooper are featured
in concern on November 6.

Tickets for the September 25
Homecomings concern will be on
sale at various locations
