Council Publishes
Drug Use Pamphlet

According to Mr. Rinaca,
Judge Berry was impressed by
Student Council's publication
of the pamphlet Current
Medical and Legal Facts About
Drug Use,
prepared by
University medical and law
students for student
distribution.

Mr. Rinaca said the
pamphlet fulfills what Judge
Berry saw as the University's
obligation to fully inform its
students of the consequences
of drug use.

"When first-year students
arrive," Mr. Wilson said, "one
of the first things we are going
to do is to explain the effects
and legal status of each of the
major classes of drugs, and to
make clear to them why our
position has to be against use
or storage of drugs in the
dormitories."

"We can't allow one
individual who is trafficking in
or using drugs to jeopardize the
freedom of everyone living in
the dorms," he said.

The annual conference at
Graves Mountain Lodge will
include discussion of the drug
problem.
