Intramurals Begin For Women

Intramural sports programs for women
are being initiated this month at the
University.

The Intramural Department has
formed an Executive Committee of
female students which is now setting up a
basketball league.

Teams for the basketball league may consist
of any graduate or undergraduate female
student, faculty member, or administrative staff
of the University. They should represent
dormitory floors, departments, and commuting
students.

Dormitory counselors also have information
on the formation of teams. The entries are due
by 4:00 P.M. on Friday, February 26 at the
main office (Room 11) of Memorial Gym, or at
the Tuttle House Intramural Office.

Once a list of teams is compiled, the rules
and schedule will be sent to each captain. The
games will be played from 4 to 5 P.M. every
Tuesday and Thursday and if necessary, from 3
to 4 P.M. on the same days.

The committee is interested in forming
other leagues in such sports as volleyball, ping
pong, field hockey, swimming, and softball.
Plans are also being made to start a
"Slimnastics" class.

Suggestions may be given and further
information obtained by calling Mr. Lafley at
the Intramural Department, University
Extension 3791.
