Piece Sought
For A-School

The Design Council of the School of
Architecture is sponsoring a sculpture
contest for the courtyard of the new "A"
school.

The purpose of the competition, which is
open to all members of the University
community, is to obtain a work of art for
permanent display in the school's courtyard.
Therefore, the judges will consider not only the
subject of the sculpture and the artist's ability,
but will also consider the scale of the sculpture
in relation to the size of the building and its
durability to the weather.

Judging the contest will be James G. Hagan,
Assistant Professor of Art, Robert T. Barbee,
Associate Professor of Art, and J. Norwood
Bosserman, Dean of the School of Architecture.

A $50 prize will be awarded to the best
sculpture. The selection will be Tuesday
afternoon. April 28. All entries should be in the
courtyard by noon of that day.
