Prize Offered For 'Fight' Song
A twenty-five dollar prize has
been established for the best
"fight song" written to sing at
football games, the Spirit Club
announced yesterday.
The winning entry, which will
be judged by a committee of
cheerleaders and Spirit Club
members, will receive the prize
soon after the judging.
A representative of the club
said yesterday that the club hoped
to have the song ready to sing
by Openings Weekend, and set a
deadline of November 3 for entries
to be considered.
Any melody, even if taken
from another song, can be used,
the club said. The song should
be the right length for singing
at a game, however, and
"catchy."
