Council As Shutts
For Compensation

Student Council Wednesday
night appealed to University
Business Manager Richard F.
Shutts and Vice President for
Business and Finances Vincent
Shea to compensate for phone
bills of organizations which
have had their SCATS lines
removed by the University in
the past year.

According to Council, a
number of student groups have
had their SCATS lines removed
as a financial measure of the
University. SCATS lines
provide direct distance calling
anywhere in the state at a
reduced rate.

The resolution cited the
necessity of the phone lines to
the organizations and called on
the University to either restore
service to the groups or
compensate for the additional
phone bills being incurred by
them.
