Nixon's Policy
Highlights Talk

The federal budget, the economic
report and the President's State of the
Union message will be discussed Monday
at the University by A.W. Zelomek,
president of International Statistical
Bureau, Inc. of New York.

Mr. Zelomek, visiting professor at the
University's Graduate School of Business
Administration, will speak at 2 p.m. in room 14
of Monroe Hall.

He plans to interpret the implications of the
State of the Union message as well as its
relationship to the New Deal and social and
economic tendencies of the 1930's.

Mr. Zelomek will also discuss what he calls
"the courting of Congress" to go along with he
President in his six goals, with special emphasis
on welfare reform, federal revenue sharing with
state and local governments, reorganization of
cabinet level departments and the upgrading of
health care.

Other questions schedules for discussion
include how far the Nixon administration has
gone in adopting a change in economic
philosophy, at what cost full employment can
be attained, and whether inflation can really be
controlled.

A question-and-answer session will follow
the lecture, both of which are open to the
public.
