Candidates Chosen By Parties
To Fill Council, Judiciary Spots

Representatives from the College to
fill the three vacancies on Student
Council and in the Judiciary Committee
will be determined by elections held
Wednesday and Thursday, December 9
and 10.

The Virginia Progressive Party
nominated six students to run for the
vacant seats. In the Judiciary Committee
nominations, Brian Siegel, Tom Goss, and
Fred Johnson were selected as VPP
candidates.

Robert Levin, Guy Lob, and Willy
Ivey were nominated to run for the
vacant Student Council seats. Jeffrey Kirsch,
president of the VPP, announced that the
candidates had begun to formulate their
platforms and campaigns before Thanksgiving
Break.

In their recent convention, the Jefferson
Party also made its nominations for the six
Council and Judiciary posts.

Those chosen to run on the JP ticket for
Student Council were Mark Warner, Bob
Voyles, and Scott Stephens. Bill McSherry, Bill
Garner, and Dave Llewellyn were selected to
compete for positions on the Judiciary
Committee.

Nominations for the two vacancies on the
Judiciary Committee and the one Student
Council seat from the Engineering School have
also been made by the three political parties of
that School.

The Trigon Engineering Society, which held
its convention on November 17, selected Andy
Hook, and Jim Wamsly for its Judiciary
candidates, and Jim Rennia for the Council
election.

Theta Tau Fraternity nominated John Ring
and John Heisler as its Judiciary candidates,
and Greg Compton to run for the Council seat.

A new party in the Engineering School. The
New Engineering Party, nominated John Zeller
for the Judiciary race, and Tom Saunders for
the Council contest.
