Art Symposium
"Focus on the Arts Expressive
Possibilities," a symposium on modern
art forms and techniques is being
sponsored by the Student Body and
Focus Committee of Randolph-Macon
Women's College this weekend in
Lynchburg.
The purpose of the symposium is "to
enable students and all people interested
in the arts to more freely express themselves
and to form more concrete opinions about the
modern would of art" according to Mary Anne
Vincent a spokesman for the school.
Attending the weekend sessions will be
"Kaleidoscope" the dance group that has
performed in the Broadway version of "Hair"
and with the Alvin Ailey Dance Group and the
New York City Opera Ballet.
Gunther Schuller and the Composers' String
Quartet, a group from the New England
Conservatory of England and known for their
combination of classical and jazz music will also
be performing.
