Defendant Guilty
In Bomb Threat,
Given Probation

Former third-year man James
A. McCosh pleaded guilty yesterday
in Charlottesville's Municipal
Court to the charge of phoning
a bomb threat to University
Security Police last November
20.

He was sentenced to two years
in the State penitentiary, but sentence
was suspended and he was
placed on probation for two
years.

Commonwealth's Attorney
John T. Camblo pointed out
that Mr. McCosh did not realize
the gravity of his offense when
he phoned in the threat and
thought of it as a prank.

The bomb threat affected a
total of 2500 students in 8 and
9 a.m. classes in Cabell Hall.
