Nathan Speaks To Local
Democrats Tuesday Morning

Robert R. Nathan, a leading
economist and humanitarian,
will speak here tomorrow at
the Pantops Restaurant at 8
p.m. Mr. Nathan's appearance
is being sponsored by the
Committee to Elect Murat
Williams to Congress and
tickets for cocktail party,
dinner, and speech are available
from the committee
headquarters located at 1936
Arlington Boulevard.
Mr. Nathan has been an
economic adviser to every
Democratic President since
Franklin D. Roosevelt and the
firm, Robert R. Nathan
Associates, Inc., of which he is
president, has aided fifteen
foreign countries in updating
their economic systems.
Mr. Nathan is president of
American Freedom From
Hunger Foundation and is
chairman of the National
Consumers League and the
Population Reference Bureau.
He is also a member of TIME
magazine's advisory board of
economists, a former national
chairman of Americans for
Democratic Action, a former
director of the National Jewish
Welfare Board, and the
founding president of the John
F. Kennedy Lodge of B'nai
B'rith.
Mr. Nathan delivered the
commencement address at
Georgetown University Law
Center last June. At the
request of Senator Hubert
Humphrey the entire speech
was included in the
Congressional Record. Senator
Humphrey called Mr. Nathan,
"a thinker in the honorable
sense of the word."
