Paul Dulaney Memorial Service Set

A memorial service for Paul
S. Dulaney, chairman of the
Architecture School's city
planning division, will be held
at 3:30 p.m. Friday in
University Chapel. Mr. Dulaney
died Sunday at his home in
Greenwood. The family asks
that in lieu of flowers,
contributions be made to the
Architecture School.

Arctic Engineering

J.L. Duda of Pennsylvania
State University will speak on
"Engineering on the Last
Frontier: The Arctic," this
Friday at 3 p.m. in Room 126
in the Mechanical Engineering
building.

Mr. Duda is a chemical
engineering professor and will
discuss the engineering
problems and techniques
involved in the development of
arctic regions.

Mr. Duda's lecture is
sponsored by the Chemical
Engineering Colloquia Series of
the University's School of
Engineering and Applied
Science.

Childhood Education

The Central Virginia Child
Development Association will
meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at
the Gordon Avenue Branch of
McIntire Library.

Asst. Prof. of Early Childhood
Education Joan Lazarus
will speak on "Looking at the
Needs of Three and Four Year
Olds."

Ms. Lazarus joined the
University faculty this fall. At
Wayne State University, where
she received her Ph.D., she
participated in a variety of
teaching experiences at
kindergarten and elementary
levels.

The public is invited.

Berry To Perform

The P.K. German Society
announces the coming of
Chuck Berry and Elephant's
Memory Bank, John Lennon's
current band, to University
Hall on December 8, at 8 p.m.
Tickets will be $3.50 in
advance and $4.00 at the door.

Bogart Festival

The "Bogart Festival"
Thursday and Friday evenings
will be repeated at 11 p.m. if
necessitated by crowd size, a
spokesman for the University
Union said.

This policy will be followed
at future festivals depending on
crowd size at the two earlier
scheduled showings.

Schedule Change

The schedule of events for
the Friday dedication of the
Josephine McLeod nursing
education and Harvey E.
Jordan medical education
buildings has been changed.

Gov. A. Linwood Holton
and former Gov. Mills E.
Godwin Jr. will speak at the 10
a.m. dedication session.
National Institute of Health
Director Robert Q. Marston
will speak at the 11:20 a.m.
session. Both speeches will be
given in the McLeod
Auditorium.

Two special nursing
programs will coincide with the
dedication ceremony. At 10
a.m. Saturday, recent nursing
graduates will give independent
study presentations in the
McLeod Auditorium.

An open house for
community residents is
scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m.
Saturday. Guided tours of the
building will be included.

Architect To Speak

Noted industrial architect
Konrad Waschmann will speak
Wednesday at 8 p.m. in 153
Campbell Hall.

Mr. Waschmann has made
many innovations in
industrialized architecture and
the applications of technology
to architecture.
