First-Year Group Picks Leaders

In their third meeting of the year, the
First-Year Council elected from their
members, three students to be officers for
the 1970-71 session.

The elected officers were: Charles Musson,
President; Larry Sabato, Vice-President; and
Dickie McMullan, Secretary-Treasurer, all of
whom will take office on November 1.

The First-Year Council, which works
through the Alderman Road and Student Councils,
was started in its present form last year to
govern the behavior of students in the first-year
dorms and also to take some of the burden off
the counselors in the area of rules enforcement.

In their first two meetings, the Council
mainly concerned themselves with organization,
and brought up some major problems
that face First-yearmen in particular and the
University in general.
