Music Department To Hold
Classical Piano Recital
The McIntire Department of Music
will present Thomas Warburton, pianist,
in recital at 4 p.m. this Sunday in Cabell
Hall Auditorium at the University.
Mr. Warburton, who is currently on the
music faculty of the University of North
Carolina, is the son of Mrs. T.A. Warburton of
Charlottesville and the late Mr. Warburton.
He is a 1962 Honors graduate of the
University and received his Ph.D. in music from
the University of Michigan this past June. While
at the University of Michigan he held a
Woodrow Wilson Fellowship and a Rackham
predoctoral fellowship.

During this time he was also awarded a
Fulbright for study in the Netherlands. He was
the music critic for the Ann Arbor News and
corresponding editor for Current Musicology
white at Michigan.
Mr. Warburton's program will include four
sonatas by Scarlatti, Aron Copland's Plano
Fantasy. Six Eludes from Opus 25 by Chopin,
and conclude with Chopin's Barcarolle. Opus
60. The recital will be open to the public
without charge.
