University Union Organizes
Annual Fine Arts Competition
The University Union has announced
the details of the Fine Arts Contest which
is open to all undergraduate and graduate
students in the University. The categories
are: Photography (black & white and
color), Poetry, Short Stories and One Act
Plays.
Prizes will be $50 for first place, $25 for
second, and $15 for third place, December 12,
1969 is the deadline for Poetry, Short Stories,
and One Act Plays. Photography entries must
be submitted by January 5, 1970.
Judging in the various categories will be
done by: William Gitchell of Gitchell's
Photography Studio and Ed Roseberry of
Corks and Curls (Photography); Allen Moorer,
graduate student, Paul Lilly and John Morgan
of the English Department (Poetry); James
Maddox Jr. of the English Department, Arthur
Greene of the Drama Department, John
Longley Jr. of the Humanities Department, and
Peter M. Coy, fourth-year College student (One
Act Plays); James Rambeau, Harry T. Antrim,
and Alan B. Williamson, all of the English
Department (Short Stories).
