University of Virginia Library

Poetry Award
To Be Presented

Since 1955, the Academy of
American Poets has offered a prize
of $100 for the best poem or group
of poems submitted by undergraduate
or graduate students at the
University. This year the monetary
award will be given again at the
close of the current semester.

This award is also offered at
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford,
Duke, Smith, Vassar, Amherst, and
other such outstanding colleges and
universities.

There is no restriction on form
or word length of the individual
poems, but students are requested
not to submit more than six poems
to be judged. All contributions
must be signed and turned in to the
English department office, 530
Cabell Hall, in a single envelope by
May 1.
