Law Groups Elect Officers

Students in the law school
elected last week officers for the
school and legal organizations
and editors for their publications.

Thomas G. Johnson Jr. defeated
Angus S. King Jr. and
George D. H. McMillan Jr. for
president of the law school in
elections held last Thursday and
Friday. Mr. Johnson was president
of the first and second year
classes of the law school.

H. Lansing Kneedler was elected
vice president, defeating
James G. Cosby and Joshua
Fletcher.

Miss Nancy A. Mattox and
Bernard J. Mikell, who ran unopposed,
were elected secretary
and treasurer, respectively.

The Virginia Law Review held
elections about two weeks ago
and named Houston R. Wasson
editor in chief. James B. Kobak
Jr. was elected associate editor;
and Carroll L. Wagner Jr. was
elected managing editor.

In other positions, Bingham
Kennedy was named Virginia
editor; and Michael J. Graetz,
research and projects editor.

The Virginia Law Weekly
elected J. Walter Drake editor;
George D. H. McMillan Jr., associate
editor; E. Dandridge McDonald,
managing editor; and E.
Martin Schara III, business manager.

The Student Legal Forum,
which sponsors lectures at the
University by noted speakers,
elected Bernard C. Baldwin president,
Peter M. Sieglass, vice
president for programing, and
Peter Whelan, vice president for
publicity. Also elected were E.
Martin Schara, secretary, and E.
Geoffrey Cullen, treasurer.

The Virginia Legal Research
Group elected Robert W. Grout
president and John B. Ashton
executive director.

William H. Weiland is editor
of the Virginia Journal of International
Law, and R. Anthony
Rogers is executive director.
