Fourth-Year Student To Choreograph Musical

A fourth-year student in the
University's School of Education
has undertaken the task of arranging
the choreography for
"Anything Goes," the Virginia
Players' first major production of
the season.

The Cole Porter musical will
be Mrs. Mary Ann Mitchell's
first attempt at choreographing
a full-length musical.

Mrs. Mitchell, a speech and
drama major, has worked extensively
with the Virginia Players
since coming to the University.
She helped choreograph the
Law School's "Libel Show" last
year.

In choreographing "Anything
Goes," Mrs. Mitchell had to
design five major dances that
are performed by the entire
dance company, as well as the
routines for five of the principal
characters' songs.

The Virginia Players' production
of "Anything Goes" opens
Thursday, October 19, with the
first three performances reserved
for University students only.

Admission for student performances
will be one dollar.

The show will re-open to the
general public on Monday, October
23, and run through the
following Saturday.
