Investment Group
Donates 35 Acres

By MARSHA MASSIE

The Charlottesville
Associates, a land investment
organization, has given 35 acres
of land in Albemarle County to
the University, Pres. Edgar F.
Shannon Jr. announced Friday.

The land, donated through
the Alumni Board of Trustees
of the University, is
approximately five miles from
the University on Rt. 29 North
overlooking the Rivanna River.

Leonard R. Milgram,
managing partner of the
Charlottesville Associates, said
that he influenced the group to
donate the land because he
"liked the area and wanted to
do something for the
University."

"I hope that through
publicity other firms will be
inclined to do the same," Mr.
Milgram said.

"It's a beautiful piece of
land, and would be a good site
for faculty or student
housing," he added.

Mr. Shannon commented
that "the generosity on the
part of Mr. Milgram and his
associates is deeply appreciated
by the Board and the entire
University community."

No plans have been made as
yet for the development of the
property, according to Mr.
