Career Panels Begin
University departmental
panel sessions will be held
tomorrow from 7-9 p.m. in
preparation for Career Week,
according to the University
Counseling Center and Career
Planning and Placement Office.
Faculty and students will
discuss and answer questions
about their departments. The
University plans no other
programs of this scope for the
remainder of the year.
Department panels will
meet in the following
locations: physical sciences –
Tuttle Lounge; social sciences
– Webb Lounge; history and
government – Hancock
Lounge; languages –
Humphreys Lounge.
English, literature and
classics – Bonnycastle Lounge;
fine arts – Emmet Lounge;
education – Kent Lounge;
commerce – Lefevre Lounge.
Students may attend two
sessions during the two-hour
period.
Volunteers Needed
Madison Hall announces
that it needs more volunteers
to devote two hours a week to
its Big Brother/Big Sister
program.
Volunteers without
interviews or people wishing to
volunteer should call the Office
of Volunteer Community
Services at 977-7051 or come
to the office at 1908–A Lewis
Mountain Road between 2 and
4 p.m. Mon. through Thurs.
Union Sponsors Roast
University Union will
sponsor a folk concert in
McIntire Amphitheater at 1
p.m. Saturday, followed by a
bonfire and apple roast at 5
p.m. behind Gilmer Hall. The
University community is
invited.
Residents Plan Party
The Upperclass Residential
Councils will sponsor a wine
and cheese party with a jazz
band Saturday from 9 to 12
p.m. in Tuttle Lounge.
Unlimited wine, cheese and
French bread will be provided
free to all upperclass residents
who have paid their social free.
All other students must pay
$.50.
FOE Committee Meets
The coordinating committee
of Charlottesville Friends of
the Earth will meet in the 331
suite of Dunglison House
tonight at 7:30.
Last Open Rush Night
The Inter-Fraternity
Council encourages all
first-year men and interested
students to visit fraternities
tonight, as this will be the last
opportunity to do so before
invitations are required.
