Student Council Candidates File Petitions

Campaigning began yesterday for
positions on Student Council, Judiciary
Committee and the graduating class
executive board. Elections will take place
Thursday and Friday, April 26 and 27.

Candidates filed petitions yesterday
and were instructed on campaign rules at
a meeting at Council offices.

Candidates In Upcoming Elections

Campaign Began Yesterday For Council, Class And Judiciary Offices

Campaigning began as posters were
put up around the Grounds.

Vote soliciting in dormitories will be
permitted from 7 to 11 p.m. only, each
day except for Friday and Saturday
nights.

Candidates for Student Council
president are third-year engineering
student Jim Rinaca and third-year college
student and Council representative Phil
Chabot.

Unopposed for Vice President is
College second-yearman and Council
Secretary Larry Sabato.

The graduating class president and
representatives from each school on the
Senior Class Executive Board will also be
elected.

Candidates for president of the Class
of 1973 are College third-yearmen Bruce
Armistead, Pat Patrick, and Mark
Sullivan.

All presidential candidates said their
primary campaign issue will be the use of
the large sum which will remain to the
senior class after graduation expenses are
paid.

All candidates were told that if any
questions come up on campaigning they
are to call the Council offices to avoid
confusion over campaign rules.

There are 14 Student Council
positions to be filled: six from the
College, two from the Engineering
School, two from Graduate Arts and
Sciences, and one each from the
Commerce, Education, Nursing, and Law
Schools.

Judiciary Committee representatives
will also be chosen at this time. They
will serve as investigators next semester
and then as judges the following semester.

One position is open from each of the
Schools of Commerce, Education,
Graduate Arts and Sciences, Nursing and
Law. Three positions are open from the
College.
