Four Receive Rhodes Nomination

Four students have been
recommended by the University for
nomination as Rhodes Scholars.

The four are S. Davis Bowman of
Richmond, Henry L. Bowden of Atlanta,
Neal J. Fink and William B. Fryer, both
from Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Fink is a
second-year law student while the rest are
all fourth-yearmen in the College.

The students were among five persons
seeking recommendation by the University for
the Rhodes Scholarships. Their names have
been sent to the State Committees of their
respective home towns for the second phase of
the selection procedure.

If the State Committee decides to nominate
any of the candidates, his name will be sent on
to the District Committee in his area for the
final election as Rhodes Scholar. Each district is
granted a certain number of Scholars, based on
population distribution.
