Panel Discusses
Teacher Training
Recent graduates from the School of
Education, in co-operation with the University's
Student Education Association, will
present a panel discussion Monday night on the
problems of teaching and educational training.
Barbara Smith, President of the SEA, told
The Cavalier Daily, that the panel discussion
has two purposes. "The first of these
purposes," said Miss Smith, "is to let students
who are planning to teach after graduation
know what some of the problems are.
"The second purpose is to discuss some of
the things that the teachers and the students
feel should be changed in the school."
Speaking on the panel will be Janet Henley
and Ron Bugnar, both 1968 graduates now
teaching in the local area, and Celia Christman,
Lauren Coffee, and Mariellen Steece, all 1969
School of Education graduates. The panel will
be moderated by Joan Smith, Vice-President of
the SEA.
The discussion will be presented at 8 p.m. in
the South Meeting Room.
