Union Begins Fund Drive,
Calls For Student Support

Beginning Monday, October 27, the University
Union will sponsor its annual Cavalier Fund
Drive. This, the only student sponsored Fund
Drive of the year calls for the support of all
members of the University community to aid
local chapters of the United Givers Fund and
the Nelson County Relief Fund.

Members of the University Union will
canvass the First Year dorms, and hope to
involve the students in this year's largest fund
drive. The Committee of Community Involvement
will enable the Fraternity brothers to
show their interest in the Charlottesville area.

Peter Ricciardelli, who has organized this
year's Fund Drive, has stressed that this year's
donations will be applied to the immediate
community in hope to accrue active interest.
Mr. Ricciardelli has chosen the Red Cross and
the Community Services Council agencies of
the U.G.F. and the Nelson County relief Fund
in order to help the area's underprivileged who
have been left homeless in the wake of this
summers flood. The University Union hopes
that the students will take this opportunity to
show its concern for its community by
surpassing the $1,000 goal this year.

The Cavalier Fund Drive was successful last
year in achieving its goal assigned by the United
Giver's Fund. The effort is met by continuing
annual support because of its appeal as the only
large fund drive mounted by the students
during the year.
