Pep Rally To Initiate
Home Football Stand

To open the 1968 home football
season against V.M.I. on the highest
possible note, a Pep Rally will be
held tonight at 7 p.m. in the
amphitheater.

The program will be highlighted
by a skit by the cheerleaders. The
players and coaches will be
introduced to the student body,
thus allowing everyone to become
familiar in advance with the names
and faces that will stand out on the
gridiron tomorrow.

The cheerleaders will canvass
the Grounds in their usual manner
prior to the rally to bring everyone
to the amphitheater for this annual
affair. The amphitheater, now a
parking lot, is located directly
across from Garrett Hall and next
to Cabell Hall.

Posters proclaiming this rally
have been placed at various places
about the Grounds inviting
everyone to attend this
morale-boosting affair.

To help the team last week
against Purdue, a giant telegram was
sent. This rally hopes to prove even
more effective than that project.

"We hope to have the best rally
ever," Jim O'Koon, Head
Cheerleader, said yesterday.

At the game this Saturday at
Scott Stadium, all students should
follow some essential rules.

"No alcoholic beverages of any
kind and no ice or containers of ice
will be allowed into Scott
Stadium," Steve Sebo, Athletic
Director, said yesterday.

This year a new system has been
created to help students who have
forgotten their identification cards
to get into the game, without
having to buy a ticket. Through the
Judiciary Committee's efforts a
vouching system has been
established where if one student
will vouch for another that person
will be permitted into the game,
after both have signed a written
slip, it was reported yesterday.

Since there are no reserved seats
for students it is advised that they
come early in order to get the best
seats.

All full time students have the
privilege of free admission, while
part-time students must pay a full
admission to see the game. Date
tickets cost $3.50.
