3,000 Cavaliers Sign Note
Wishing Gridders Luck
A 'Beat Purdue' telegram signed
by over 3,000 Cavaliers will greet
the football team as they go into
battle against Purdue Saturday
afternoon.
In addition to showing The
University's overwhelming support
for the football team, the project is
designed to raise money for a
Commerce school fraternity.
Each student who desires his
name on this telegram may do so
by donating 20 cents. Booths are
set up at various places about the
Grounds to collect the money and
names.
All names must be collected
before 6 p.m. today in order to
compose the telegram in sufficient
time.
Alpha Kappa Psi, a Commerce
School Honorary Fraternity, and
the Commerce Council are
co-sponsoring this project. In
addition to giving the Wahoos
moral support, this project is hoped
to raise some needed funds.
Allan Loring, the fourth-year
medical student in charge of this
project, said that "We hope that the
student support demonstrated by
this telegram will give our football
team the needed incentive to
destroy Purdue on the football
field."
Mr. Loring hoped that not only
students, but also faculty members
and local residents would show
their support by signing up.
