Three Appointed
As Members On
University Board
Three new members have been
appointed to the University's
board of visitors, and three present
members have been reappointed
it was announced Saturday
by Governor Godwin's office
in Richmond.
Named to four-year terms on
the board for the first time were
W. Wright Harrison, Norfolk
bank president; Joseph H. McConnell
of Richmond, president
of Reynolds Metals Co.; and attorney
C. Stuart Wheatley Jr. of
Danville, a member of the State
Board of Education.
They replace Hunter Falconer
of Charlottesville and Lawrence
Lewis Jr. of Richmond,
who were ineligible for reappointment,
and former Governor
Albertis S. Harrison Jr., who
resigned following appointment
to the State Supreme Court of
Appeals.
Reappointed to four-year terms
on the board were Dr. Edwin L.
Kendig, Jr. of Richmond; Mrs.
Molly Vaughan Parish of Newport
News; and J. Sloan Kuykendall
of Winchester.
