WTJU Elects Officers, Goes Stereo-All In One Week.

Program director Lee
Wilder said he feels that it is
important for the newly
elected officers "to realize that
the prime factor in WTJU's rise
to prominence can be
summarized in one
word–change."

There have been enormous
changes made at WTJU during
the past four years, he said. In
1970 WTJU began
broadcasting at uncertain times
and inconsistent programming,
and since that time WTJU has
become a 24-hour a day station
with programs that conform to
the student's desires.

Mr. Wilder said he thinks
that it is necessary for WTJU
to find new paths to follow.
"We have decided that as we
continue to improve the
quality of entertainment on
WTJU, we want to improve the
entertainment to be found in
Charlottesville." "We are
going to provide low-cost,
enjoyable, and accessible
entertainment for all students.

Mr. Janoff was unavailable
for comment.
