News-In-Brief

Recognition Procedure

To receive an allocation
from the Student Activities
Fund or to use University
facilities, a student
organization must be
recognized annually by the
Student Council. A student
organization is defined as any
organization of which a
majority of active members are
students.

Recognition is a simple
procedure. Student Council
automatically recognizes any
organization which files two
copies of an information form
and two copies of its
constitution and by-laws. The
organization must also state
that it does not discriminate on
the basis of race, color, creed,
national origin, or sex.

Recognition forms are
available in the Student
Council office, 4th floor
Newcomb Hall, from 9:00 -
1:00 and 2:00 - 5:00 Monday
through Friday. If you have
any questions on the
recognition procedures, please
see Larry Sabato, President of
Student Council.
