Senior Class, E-Council Candidates

Council Elections
Committee announced
yesterday that the candidates for
Senior Class President are John
Abbitt, George Allen, Connie
Clark, Scott McWalter, Dave
Schlitz, and David Sharp.

Senior class representative
candidates are Engineering
student Bill Stobbart and
Commerce student Boo
Twohy.

Candidates for Engineering
Council are   first-year
students Mark Baylor, Beverley
Clark, David Stone and Bill
Walker; second-year students
Denise Gronewald and Jan
Stevens; and   third-year
students Steve Jacobs, Bill
Pitzer and Tom VanPoole.

Write-in candidates must
file a petition, post a $20
campaign bond and sign
necessary statements in order
to run. Candidates should call
Paul Freeman at 924-3454 if
they have any questions.

Any individual or organization
that has yet to return a ballot
box is asked to do so as soon as
possible.

Easter Egg Hunt

Madison Hall, with the
assistance of President and Mrs.
Shannon and their family, will
hold an Easter egg hunt for all
big and little brothers and
sisters.

The hunt will take place
tomorrow afternoon at 2:30
on the lawn of Carr's Hill.

Garden Week

Pavilion III and VIII
gardens will be open Sunday
from 8 to 10 p.m. in
celebration of Virginia Garden
Week.

University Guides will
provide candlelight for the
event.

Glass Collection

The Charlottesville Ecology
Group will collect white and
green glass Saturday from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Midway
School parking lot at Ridge
and South Streets near the
Trailways Bus station.

The group asks that the
glass contain no labels or
metal.

Scholarship Finalist

Third-year-man Mark
Hattan has been sleected as a
finalist in the Irene Ryan
Scholarship competition of the
American College Theater
Festival.

He will appear on April 29
in the Kennedy Center's
Eisenhower Theater in
Washington.

President Selection

The University President
Student Selection Committee
would like student input,
names and criteria to aid in the
selection process.

Students should present
their ideas to Student Council
offices, fourth floor Newcomb
Hall, as soon as possible.
Committee member Lee
Garrett, at 293-7377, will
answer questions.

Easter Concert

Friends of the Earth will
sponsor an Earth Day Concert
this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
in the Lile-Maupin area.

"Possum Delight" and
"Captain Tunes and His
Fabulous Note Guns" will be
featured.

Visiting Fellowship

Assoc. Astronomy Prof.
Lewis E. Snyder, has been
named as one of 10 scientists
to receive Visiting Fellowships
from the Joint Institute for
Laboratory Astrophysics.
