By PARKES BRITTAIN

Chief J. D. Bowen of the
Charlottesville Police Department reports
a "rash of fraternity break-ins" here at
the University during the Thanksgiving

Off-Grounds fraternity houses which
have reported break-ins and thefts to the
police department are the Pi Kappa Phi
house at 510 Rugby Road; Sigma Alpha
Epsilon, 1703 Grady Avenue; Beta Theta
Pi, 180 Rugby Road; and Theta Chi, 600
Preston Avenue.

The Department of Security has also
received report of break ins at two
fraternities on the Grounds, Chi Phi, 161
Rugby Road and Kappa Sigma, 165
Rugby Road.

The Pi Kappa Phi house listed thefts of
miscellaneous personal items which were
recovered yesterday by Charlottesville
police, although no arrests were made at
that time. The SAE house reported the
loss of several stereo and tape sets.

The police department indicated that
it had "two strong suspects" in
connection with the break-in at Theta
Chi, though they are "not at liberty to
give out the names" until arrests are
formally made.

University Security Department
reports thefts of money, radio and tape
sets and other personal items, including a
blank check from Chi Phi and Kappa
Sigma.
