Students Leave Administrators
Ample Parking On Grounds
By DEBBY DENNO
There was no increase detected in the
amount of parking tickets issued to
students yesterday as compared to a daily
average of 40 tickets, according to The
Daily Progress.
A Student Council member added
that there were over 100 cars parked
illegally, although less than 100 were
actually in administrative parking areas
around the central grounds. He credited this to
a lack of communication between students as
to where they were supposed to park.
Monday night, about 9:30, about 40 cars Photo By John Alexander This Is A Good Solution To The Cold October Ground
were reported to have been parked in the
amphitheatre, although only 10 remained,
including one motorcycle, at 7 Tuesday

students who then drove away after returning
from the Lawn.
At 7:40, as faculty members began parking,
not parking tickets were seen on the cars.
In the McCormick Road area near the
library, two-thirds of the spaces were filled at 8
a.m. while along Emmet Street most of the
available parking was taken. No parking tickets
were seen at this time either of the areas.
Between 8:05 and 8:10 a.m. parking lots in
the areas near Maury Hall and the armory were
reported to have been half full.
A man walking with a briefcase toward
Newcomb Hall Tuesday morning was overheard
as saying, "Did they sleep out last night?
Sounds like fun."
