Moon Stone
On Display

A moon rock from the recent Apollo
12 mission will be on public display at
the University today through Thursday.

The rock, which is 3 inches long, 2.5
inches wide and 2 inches thick, will be displayed
at the Leander McCormick Observatory
from noon today until the end of visitors' night
at 10:30 p.m. Special high magnification microscopes
and viewing devices will be available for
the public to examine this sample of the
moon's surface, which is on loan from the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

On Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. the moon rock will be on view at the
School of Engineering and Applied Science in
the main lobby of Thornton Hall.

On Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. the department of environmental
sciences will make the rock available for the
public to see in Newcomb Hall at the University.
