Features Film
A film-showing and discussion on Palestine
and the Middle East will be held
tonight at 7:30 in the Informal Lounge of
Newcomb Hall. The two films are being
sponsored by The American Friends of
Palestine at the University of Virginia.
One of the films describes the situation
of the Palestinian "refugees." The
other is a documentary on the Palestinian
"commandos" operating in Jordan.
Charles Finn, President of The American
Friends of Free Palestine, said, "Considering
recent talk of U.S. intervention in Jordan, we
feel that it is crucial for all of us to examine all
sides of the conflict."
Mr. Finn also stated, "We know what
happened when the American public was uniformed
on the actual situation in Vietnam, and
we don't want that to happen again in the
Middle East.
The same films will be shown on Sunday
afternoon at 4 p.m. in Webb House Lounge for
those who cannot attend tonight. There is no
admission charge and the public is cordially
invited.
