SC Elections Continue;
Judiciary Invalidated

Voting continued today in the University-wide
elections for President and
Vice-President of Student Council, but an
error on the ballot will negate the College
Judiciary contest.

The ballots mistakenly instructed
College voters to choose one of the four
candidates for the Judiciary Committee.
Since three seats are open on the
Committee, however, the ballots should
have told the voters to vote for three
candidates.

Student Council representative Mary Jean
Harrold said yesterday that the confused
election will be held over on May 12-13, to
coincide with the College Student Council
elections. Only the four candidates who were
running in the original election will be eligible
to run.

Meanwhile, the Council officers races
entered the final day of voting Kevin Mannix is
the only candidate running for President, but
write-in movements have started in several
schools. Law students are reportedly voting for
a mysterious canine named Btz while a Buzzy
Waitzkin draft has started in the College.

Mr. Mannix must receive a majority of the
ballots cast in the election to be legally elected
President.

In the election for Vice-President, Hugh
Antrim and Tony Sherman are the only
candidates listed on the ballot.

That election has been viewed as a battle
between a candidate who has called for a
re-appraisal of the Council's direction in
previous years, Mr. Antrim; and Mr. Sherman,
who has sat on the last two Council's and who
ran on the Council's recent record.
